EN 407 Contact Heat Performance testing requires that a glove withstand increasing temperatures up to a maximum of 50 °F for at least 15 seconds to be approved. This means the temperature inside the glove did not rise more than 50 °F within 15 seconds of constant contact with an object that was 482 °F in temperature.
EN 407 Contact Heat Performance Levels:
- Level 1: 212 °F / 100 °C
- Level 2: 482 °F / 250 °C
- Level 3: 662 °F / 350 °C
- Level 4: 932 °F / 500 °C
